About the Scholarship

The $500.00 cash scholarship is given annually to a graduating senior in Garden City High School who intends to pursue a career in the health field.  The selection criteria requires an essay by the applicant detailing their decision to pursue a career in the health field.

To qualify, graduating senior students must meet the following criteria:

• must be a student in grade 12 for the current school year at Garden City (NY) High School
• must be a U.S. citizen

Scholarship Winners

Congratulations to Andrew Ajemian, a senior at Garden City High School, who received the $500.00 cash scholarship from Dr. Emma in 2008.

Andrew will pursue a career in medicine because of his desire to serve those in need. He has shown extraordinary experience through his annual service at the Mayera Village School in West Africa. It is through these selfless acts of character that he truly signifies the meaning behind a career in the field of health care. Congratulations Andrew!
