American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast CancerMaking Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society's premier event to raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. But it’s more than just the name of a walk – it describes the amazing progress we’re making together to defeat this disease. Since 1993, 3.5 million walkers have raised more than $230 million through Making Strides. In 2006 alone, 450,000 walkers across the country collected more than $40 million to help fight breast cancer. Visit http://makingstrides.acsevents.org for more details.

It provides a full day, 12-month academic and behavioral treatment program to preschool and school age children ranging in age from 3 to 21 years. Ascent primarily serves children with severe behavioral issues who have experienced failure in the continuum of available public special education settings and who require a high degree of individualized attention and intervention.

Our donations help the Ascent School run the premier educational program for individuals with autism in the Long Island area.
